You are Mortimer Beckett and you’ve been given a letter by your uncle; something has happened and you must help find all the pieces of his mysterious machine. But there are those who want the machine for themselves. And what connection do they have to your uncles disappearance?
>> Mortimer Beckett and the Secrets of Spooky Manor<<< opens with a comic book type opening and settles in for a more traditional style seek and find game. You move throughout the house and back and forth through the room to find the pieces that are out of place and broken up. You find things then put them back together and in place and unlock pieces to the machine along with letters to the secret code.
The overall mode is not really spooky but more of a mildly mysterious hunt. The music is perfect for a mystery and the objects are infuriatingly placed well which means using the hint button on the smaller pieces. If you start clicking wildly the the ghosts appear and obscure the screen. A great romp through a completely trashed mansion.
